Requirements of the NOF Educational programme
Content of programme
The programme aims to provide the surgeons with tools that enable them to become qualified orthopaedic surgeons that is, a orthopaedic surgeon able to conduct independent decisions making in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patient suffering from musculoskeletal diseases.
Organiser : NOF member, Subspeciality
Programme : Accepted by NOF Board 6 months in advance
Announcement : Published internationally - on NOF Website, in Acta Orthopaedica, on EFORT Website and, National Societies Journals and websites. NOF logo obligatory
Syllabus : EBOT guidelines – combined with national syllabus
Faculty : Primarily NOF members.
Form : Lectures, symposia, workshops, “live transmission” of operative procedures, interactive case presentations, cadaver studies
Periodicity : Every second year, two-three days
Venue : Primarily in a NOF-country, at a hospital. Geographically close to an international airport.
Economy : Budget supported by NOF. Budget accepted by NOF Board in advance of event. Co-laboration with the industry encouraged. Surplus split 50-50% between organiser and NOF. Deficit covered by NOF.
Faculty : Basically “no honorary”. Transport, accommodation and meals covered by Organiser. Air ticket – “low fare”
Fee : Reduced fee for NOF members
Accommodation : “low-cost” for all participants including Faculty
Course evaluation : NOF evaluation form to be used. Overviews send to Secretary General after the course – not later than one month after course closure.
Diploma : At the end of the course, signed by NOF President and Secretary General
