June 6th 2008 - latest information
Dear NOF2008 participant,
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam, June 11-13. Please find attached the poster programme and the most recent information on the Skills Labs and the Meet-the-Expert sessions.
There are 6 skills labs with various topics. Some run through the entire congress, whereas others run two days or only one day. Detailed information on the skills labs can be found on posters near the registration desk.
For the Meet-the-Expert sessions we succeeded in attracting 14 experts in various fields of orthopaedic surgery. The sessions are programmed on Thursday and Friday morning, 7:30-8:30 h. Breakfast will be provided, at no cost, at the locations of the Meet-the-Expert sessions. You are required to register at the registration desk for these sessions, as they are limited to 10 participants for each expert. If you do not register, you can only join the sessions that are not fully booked. The locations of the Meet-the-Expert sessions can be found at the registration desk. Please bring your own cases with you, on your USB memory-stick, for discussion with the expert and other participants. The presentation of jpg-images, Word and Powerpoint documents will usually not be a problem. Of course, you can also bring your own notebook PC.
Finally, please find attached the full poster programme. The poster sessions are programmed during the coffee breaks on Thursday and Friday, 10.:30 - 11:00 h. Please take you time to review the poster programme and select the posters that you must see.
We look forward to meet you at NOF2008.
Kind regards,
NOF2008 Congress Secretariat

NOF 2008 Congress Newsletter 2, 30th of October 2007 General Information.
The 2008 congress of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation is reaching the definite form.
The scientific program is fine-tuned and fully available on www.nof2008.org. Some of the details of the scientific program are outlined below.
The social program has reached its final form. The detailed information is also available on the website of the congress but this newsletter gives some further information on the congress.
Also on www.nof2008.org an early on-line registration and abstract submission is possible together with all available information on the congress venue. The website of NOF2008 offers links to hotel reservations and transportation.
Program of the 54th Congress of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation “Orthopaedic Innovations”
The scientific committee has succeeded in contracting very well known keynote speakers: 1. Stephen Graves Arthroplasty registries 2. Bjorn Olsen Genetics & Orthopaedic Practice 3. Andrew A. Amis ACL/Sports Injury 4. Kjeld Soballe Conservative Hip Surgery in young adults
These keynote speakers guarantee an exciting visit to Amsterdam in June 2008. Apart from these keynote speakers we planned many symposia, instructional course lecturers, workshops and meettheexpert sessions
For the congress is European accreditation of 15 CME points to be expected.
Social Program: The social program is at least as exciting as the scientific program. The city of Amsterdam and its surroundings are explored in several ways. Visits to many places of interest are possible, during day and even during night time. What to think of a visit to the Amsterdam Opera House. Or a workshop on handling and smoking of cigars. Or more sporty, discovering Amsterdam and some of the nearby ancient Zuiderzee coastal towns by bike.
The organizing committee has completed the registration for these events. On the on-line registration there is also the possibility for subscribing to these magnificent happenings.
The opening of the congress is a happening in itself. One of the Netherlands most famous, as a matter of fact international famous, comedians will introduce the official opening. The name of this highly skilled musical artist will be a secret for a while but the organizing committee is very proud in announcing the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday 11th of June. The Opening Ceremony is followed by the Welcome Reception in the RAI Congress Centre.
Important dates: On-line early registration submission is available since 1st of September 2007 Deadline for early registration will be 1st of April 2008 Congress dates are 11th – 13th of June 2008
The first and best reason to visit Amsterdam in june 2008 is the NOF 2008 congress itself but do not forget to inform you partner on the many opportunities, other thenorthopaedic surgery, that are offered!
